Incident: British Airways B772 over Atlantic on Oct 19th 2011, engine shut down in flight



A British Airways Boeing 777-200, registration G-VIIB performing positioning flight BA-9151 from Santa Maria Azores Islands (Portugal) to London Heathrow,EN (UK), was enroute over the Atlantic when the crew needed to shut the right hand engine (GE90) due to oil pressure problems. The aircraft diverted to Lisbon (Portugal) reaching mainland Portugal at FL250 and landed safely on Lisbon's runway 03.

The aircraft reached London finally on Oct 20th and resumed service on Oct 21st.
