Angola: INFOTUR and TAAG Sign Cooperation Protocol

The Institute of Tourism Studies and the Angolan Airlines (TAAG) signed Friday, in Luanda, a cooperation agreement for the fostering and promotion of domestic tourism, either internally or externally.

Under the agreement, the flagship airline should facilitate the reduction of certain fees and/or transportation of members of delegations of Infotur participating in international fairs, including journalists, as well as sponsoring some activities.

The Institute of Tourist Promotion - as a body to encourage national tourism within and outside Angola will promote services and TAAG brand in the events it is attending.

The memorandum was signed by the director general of Infotur, Eugene Clemente, and the Executive administrator for the Area of Maintenance, Engineering and Trade, Adriano de Carvalho, which at the time stressed that the agreement will greatly benefit the country.

"This agreement is the culmination of an activity that TAAG has been carrying out to promote air transport, either national or intercontinental", he said, stressing that tourism is an additional air transport field.

He added that the protocol will help catapult the activity of the national flag company to promote and reach other markets.

The Director-General of Infotur said the agreement will enable better maneuvering of the external and internal promotion operations that the institute has programmed under the Tourism Master Plan, as well as enable the creation of strong and cohesive delegations.
